5 Must-Haves for Postpartum Recovery

  1. Underwear & Pads

No postpartum recovery list is complete without comfortable heavy-flow pads, whilst they might feel slightly strange at first, it is the best way to keep yourself clean and comfortable.

  1. Nursing Pads

Nursing pads will be needed for the first few weeks at least, as your breast milk will leak and can cause some awkward looks! You can either buy disposable or reusable pads. The reusable fabric breast pads are soft & comfortable to use.

  1. Postpartum Belly Wrap

Whilst the Belly Wrap is not essential, it can be a great way to help strengthen your core muscles as they recover and shrink back. The wrap helps to draw the muscles back together and you can return to your pre-pregnancy body quickly and easily!

  1. Sitz Bath

A sitz bath is a warm, shallow bath that provides relief and healing for postpartum recovery. Add salt, medicine or spray to the sitz bath under the advice of your healthcare provider.

  1. Witch hazel pads

Witch hazel pads are an effective tool to promote healing and decrease infection after giving birth. They are placed on the lining of underwear, just like a sanitary pad. They have a cooling effect, helping to soothe and comfort you after birth.
